Adopting Your New Pet

Adopt Me

Adopting from a shelter is one of the smartest choices you can make. Not only are you saving a life, you’re helping your community by decreasing the number of homeless animals. Here are some things to consider when thinking about getting a new pet:

  1. When you pick an adult dog or cat, you know who you’re taking home, unlike a puppy or kitten which might be very different in terms of its personality and behavior when it grows up.
  2. Are you planning to keep your pet indoors or outdoors?
  3. You must have a fenced yard to adopt a dog---no exceptions.
  4. Your activity level should match that of the dog you are seeking.
  5. Do you have time for walks if you plan to keep your new friend indoors?
  6. All adoptive animals are required to be spayed or neutered.

If we don’t have the one special dog or cat you are looking for, leave your name and contact info with us and we will be happy to contact you immediately when that special someone shows up.

Until we are better able to accommodate our furry friends with a larger facility where we can hold them longer, our adoption listings will change quickly. We do everything possible to place our animals here in our own community, but those that are not adopted here, we attempt to transfer out as quickly as possible to alternate larger shelters or rescues for adoption there.

Please Note: If your animal was lost, and you do not wish to reclaim it, please be aware that we have only 72 hours to place the animal.
